We went out checking the albatross plots today. There are still quite a few birds on eggs, but the majority have hatched. Some are even being left on their own already. We also got some weed spraying in today, so it was another typical day on Midway.
This is one of the chicks behind my house. It's getting big so the parent doesn't sit on it all the time.

I love the photos of this particular albatross chick. He looks so dorky! Let's hope he or she isn't fed a bunch of plastic.
Pete,
Great pic albatross chick. How cute. Should be on cover of some magazine. FYI, my high school son has new course this semester, ASTRONOMY. Maybe you can help with homework. I will never forget looking for Orion and proper chips.

What kind of camera do you have?
What about the Lens?
Great shots!
Keep it up!
Thanks Peggy, Steve, and anonymous (and thanks for the Christmas card Steve). The stars have been great the past few days. Orion is out early now, but as you saw, it's hard to see the constellations sometimes because there are too many stars.
My camera is a Canon EOS Rebel XTi. These pictures were taken with my 18-55 IS lens. I also have a 100-300 zoom and 35-105 zoom which I use a lot also.
Cute chick, I like the hairstyle, very punk.
